etoro fees are the ones that you have to pay in order to use the Etoro platform. They vary depending on your trading activity and account type, but generally speaking they are fairly low. The maximum amount you will ever have to pay is 0.5% of your total traded volume per month, which equates to £0.0035 per 100,000 shares traded on your account.
To put this into perspective, if you trade 50,000 shares a month then you will only have to pay £2.50 in Etoro fees. This is quite low compared to other platforms like IG or BitMex which charge a flat rate of around $1 per month for all accounts regardless of trading activity or account type (desktop vs mobile).
If you are a new trader, this is a good place to start.
The fees at eToro are not that bad. In fact, they’re quite affordable. They’re also the same for all traders and there are no hidden charges or fees for holding funds in your account.
However, these fees do apply:
Market orders: A market order is an order to buy or sell at the current best available price, with no other limit or condition attached. For example, if you want to buy 1 bitcoin at $1,000 and it’s trading at $1,050 then your market order will be filled at that price (although you might get a slightly better deal if you wait until someone else cancels their market order).
Limit orders: A limit order is an instruction to buy or sell at a specified price or better within a specific time period (usually up to three days). This type of order is usually used when you want to set up a position over a longer period of time and don’t want your position filled immediately by market makers who won’t accept your limit order unless they think it has some value behind it.
There are two types of fees in eToro:
1. Trading fees
These are charged when you make a trade, and the amount varies depending on the currency pair, spreads and other factors. As an example, if you buy $10,000 worth of Bitcoin using eToro, your trading fee will be around 3%. This is a fixed fee that doesn’t change regardless of how many contracts you place. For example, if you place 10 contracts on Bitcoin at $10k each and have an average daily volume of 10 contracts per day (10 x 365 = 3650), then your trading fee will be $45.
2. Margin fees
These are charged when you sell short or long positions, depending on whether you’re going short or long on the other side of that trade. For example, if you sell $10k worth of Bitcoin with an average daily volume of 10 contracts per day (10 x 365 = 3650), then your margin fee will be $3 per contract ($0.03).
It is important to know that the fees are not levied on your personal account, but on your company’s account. If you have a separate trading account, then you will pay trading fees on that account.
